Will Tamil medium help the language grow into a global language?

Sir,
What do you think will be the outcome of the Tamilnadu government pushing the mother tongue to the front without
considering the consequences ? Tamil language has history, literary greaatness, etc etc...etc fine. But will these leaders
be able to provide high profile jobs for Tamil medium graduates? Could they be gainfully employed as research minded
scientists? They quickly point out how sopme European countries like France and Germany and Japan have made their
mother tongue as the medium of education. Is that comparison valid?

This is culturally a sensitive topic for me to comment on. But there is a question we are unable to answer such as how many
Germans or French or Japanese do we see in Tamilnadu looking for jobs ? Could we say the same thing about our young graduates
who are desperately seeking overseas jobs without minding how demeaning they might be. Recently I was asked to be present during an overseas job interview when so many graduates lined up ready to take up any menial job on a ship. If that were the case we had better learn an international language.

I do not hope so. Tamil is a classical language fit for ancient dramas and perhapas the art world. language must be easy scientific writing, and common interaction. White people remark that Tamil is hard to learn and speak. Tamil is definitely very useful for playing dirty politics within the state. In the oute r world you are not great with your Literary and Poetic Tamil. No body cares.

Tamil medium can really harm students aspiring to go global.
