Sir,
I have noticed that most University students including those who do their MBA , MCA and other graduate courses do not really    read the daily newspapers. How could they hope to get  knowledge without it.This is so rampant  from my  acquaintance with so many  graduates. But they are all quite scholarly  if the topic is about kollywood hereoes. Whenever  I read the Times of India  articles by Mr. Swaminthan or MJ Akbar, I feel  majority of our countrymen are really missing out what is most important for them. Most engineering and professional colleges  are conscious about the general  lack of social skills  among students and have introduced  communication  solutions as pre- placement campus  recruitments. But w hat is missing is students’  general knowledge. They must be encouraged to read the newspapers .
