Could you please advise me how to prepare for IELTS?

Sir, I want to migrate to Australia or Canada for job. I have studied up to  B.com. How to preparre
for IELTS as that is a major pronlem  for me.I dont know how to preparae/ it is tough for me.

Madam,
It is not a tough task as you think. Only thing you have to do is practice all the  Engish basic skills, Reading, writing, listening and speaking. Many books are avaiable , You can go for cambridge university publications which is a standard one. All the best.

Yes Chidambram sir .....I bought many books , I spent Rs.10000  on tuition and I did not pass in all 3 times. I do not understand. Some people say you can buy the results..

   IELTS preparation is chiefly dependent on  two important factors.

  1. Time Management
  2. Content Management

  For time management  you need to practise  patiently and endlessly everyday with an  alarm clock set to alert you. This alertness gets programmed in you that you instinctively know how much you could write in 40 minutes. Only when you start practising you will understand the real problem of completing the test within the time limit.

 Secondly for content management you probably could  be well prepared  by reading the Hindu Newspaper and leading  science magazines   so that you have a complete knowledge  of important  issues. This is easy for anybody to tell you to read this and that.
You may have a problem of vocabulary. You may not understand the  language. You will be turning the dictionary pages after pages.
There is indeed no short cut to increase your  word power. It only comes after extensive reading and enjoying  what you have read.

 If you have not been using much of English language in your daily life, you will know the importance of it as you start preparing for IELTS  and plan going overseas. You need to restructure your whole life style. The internet  can guide you a lot  these days. You need good tutors to teach you the art of writing the 250 word essays. Writing the academic essay  is mostly dealing with arguments.
You must have conviction of what you want to say. If you think and  decide smoking cannot be completely banned then say so. You must have  three strong reasons to support what you say. Do not try to generalize or try to deviate from the main point. Give out facts and not opinions. Your opinions do not matter unless asked. If you state your opinions then be prepared to say  why do you think so. Learn the 5 paragraph essay writing. Visit the Purdue University website which gives you the most useful tips on writing.
