Indian  students Under attack

There are  45,000 students  in the state of Victoria from India.  Starting with  Nitin Garg an Indian student  being murdered on January 2 nd  in Melbourne, the attack on  Indian students  has escalated.  The  Australian police refused  to admit that the crimes are racially motivated. But on record the number belies their claim.  Popularly called as “the curry bashings” in the Australian media, it has angered the Indian Government  which has expressed its concern through diplomatic  channels. Education is a big time money spinner for the Australians to the tune of  $ 17 Billion now slipping back by 46 % . The Australian High Commissioner  Peter Varghese  is all set on a relationship building . We all saw him on TV the other day meeting  with The Tamilnadu Chief Minister. But the crisis management  has led to denying visa to those who were taking fast track approaches to permanent residency by  obtaining hairdressing and catering qualifications. Perhaps the Australians will find  a quick recovery  by opening  branches in India  since the Indian Government  has  lifted the ban on foreign universities to open shops  in India.
