There are times when we are excited by the abstract and what is linguistically incomprehensible especially if it were loaded with technical jargon. When Mr.Thiru a medical physics consultant from Reno, Nevada was trying to make me understand what is technology all about, I was charmed in extreme to get to know how much human knowledge has transformed today’s healthcare. Later as I started exploring a little of what is medical physics, the kind of explanation which popped up online made my head spin. It was a head-on –collision with words I have never heard of. The sentences ran on their high horse and truth to be told, I was caught in a stampede of technical vocabulary. The third sentence was the hardest to  encounter. It read “fluoroscopically guided diagnostic cardiac catheterization and percutaneous coronary intervention.” My English knowledge came to my aid to decode the meaning of most of the words though I was completely stuck at the word “Fluroscopically’.

It became  a thrilling g Wiki research to know about Fluroscopy which is “an imaging technique that uses X-rays to obtain real-time moving images of the internal structures of a patient through the use of a fluoroscope.“ The moments spent on a single word search were as thrilling as great explorers spent their lifetime on their discovery. Now I wonder how such  technical language can be translated into Tamil . Tamil enthusiasts may have an answer.
